London suffered a huge fire in 1666 which destroyed much of the city.  The "Great Fire" destroyed some 13,000 medieval houses.  The 62 meter high Doric stone column known as the "Monument" commemorates the location where the fire originally erupted.

Visitors can climb a spiral staircase to the top of the Monument and enjoy a wonderful view of London.

The Great Fire Monument is located in London EC3.
